For 55 years, family-owned Automatic Ice Maker in Middlesex has been servicing the hospitality industry with top-of-the-line wholesale refrigerators, freezers and other products.
With the Internet taking a brisk bit of business away from every neighborhood shop on the planet, second-generation Ice Maker Jordan Singer found a way to compete that is so it novel, he said he is sure it would have surprised his late father and company founder, Sid Singer. About a year ago, the son of a Singer opened the scratch ‘n’ dent retail operation of JWJ Restaurant Equipment Outlet around the corner from his longstanding wholesale business on South Avenue.
